Our 10th anniversary crowdfunder: 10 years of protecting children from ideology

10th anniversary crowdfunder

When we first launched Transgender Trend in 2015, we were the first UK organization to challenge gender identity ideology in schools and healthcare. Today we launch our 10th anniversary crowdfunder to ensure we can continue to do our crucial work.

Please support us by donating to our crowdfunder here.

For the past decade, Transgender Trend has stood at the forefront of the battle to protect children from harmful ideology and unproven medical interventions. We’ve witnessed how a well-funded and politically influential lobby has pushed gender identity ideology into schools, healthcare systems, and even the home—without a solid foundation of evidence to support its claims.

But we’ve never backed down.

From the start, we were met with resistance – we were routinely smeared by the transgender lobby, and we were met with hostility by politicians and policy-makers.

Fast forward a decade, and we are a respected and trusted organisation, listened to by politicians of all parties, policy-makers, lawmakers and professionals in all walks of life.

We’ve stood up in courtrooms, Parliament, and across global media outlets, raising awareness and pushing back against the ideological indoctrination of a generation of children. The extent of the vilification we’ve received from the transgender lobby has only proved how effective we’ve been, and encouraged us to keep going. But we are still fighting against powerful, well-funded lobby groups with political influence and resources that far outstrip our own.

And we need your help to continue.

Changing the Culture: From “No Debate” to Open Conversation

When we first started in 2015, the conversation around gender identity in schools and healthcare was dominated by a strict “no debate” culture. The prevailing sentiment was that ‘gender identity’ must be accepted without question, and without any scrutiny. Anyone who raised concerns about the rapid rise in the number of children self-diagnosing as ‘transgender’ were labeled as transphobes or bigots.

Our work encouraged professionals, parents, and even young people themselves to question what they’re being told, to seek out evidence, and to demand a more cautious approach. The landscape has completely changed since 2015. The culture of “no debate” is over. The bullying, silencing and cancelling has continued but these tactics have not prevented a growing conversation about the risks and consequences of medical treatments like puberty blockers and cross-sex hormones—treatments that are prescribed without sufficient evidence about their long-term effects.

Our work has sparked conversations in schools, in medical communities, and in the media, ensuring that the voices of those who have been silenced are finally being heard. And this shift has not gone unnoticed.

Recognized for Changing the Narrative

Over the past 10 years, Transgender Trend has gained national and international recognition for its role in shifting the dialogue on gender identity and children’s education and healthcare.

Our work has been cited by lawmakers, referenced in court cases, and featured in major media outlets. We’ve been invited to provide expert briefings to Members of Parliament, and our advocacy has been instrumental in ensuring that debates around gender and children’s welfare are based on facts and evidence, not ideology.

We’ve earned the respect of professionals in the fields of education, psychology, and healthcare. We’ve helped push the issue into public discourse in a way that challenges the dominant narrative, making it harder for harmful ideologies to go unchallenged.

Awards and Recognitions

Our founder Stephanie Davies-Arai has been acknowledged for her significant contributions to the safeguarding of children from unproven gender identity ideology, and her work advocating for evidence-based practices in schools and healthcare.

  • Shortlisted for the John Maddox Prize (2018):

Stephanie was shortlisted for the prestigious John Maddox Prize in recognition of her schools guidance and the pivotal role it has played in shaping the conversation around gender identity in educational settings. The John Maddox Prize is awarded for standing up for science and rational thinking in the face of adversity. It’s particularly notable because of the bullying faced by individuals and organizations that challenge the dominant narrative around gender ideology, especially within schools.

  • Bell and Mrs A v the Tavistock (2020):

Stephanie was given permission to intervene in the groundbreaking judicial review Bell and Mrs A v Tavistock in 2020. The judges accepted her submission of evidence of the ‘gender affirming’ culture this generation is growing up in, and the experiences of detransitioners, on the basis that it was new evidence that was relevant to the case. Two major, well-staffed and funded organisations, Stonewall and Mermaids, were refused permission on the same basis: their evidence was found to be irrelevant to the legal question of whether a child could give informed consent to blockers and hormones. This case was instrumental in the commissioning of an independent review of the Tavistock gender clinic by NHS England. The final Cass Review was published in 2024 and has since had wide global influence.

  • British Empire Medal (BEM) in the Queen’s Jubilee Honours List (2022):

In recognition of her services to children as director of Transgender Trend Stephanie was awarded the British Empire Medal (BEM) in the 2022 Queen’s Jubilee Honours List.

The British Empire Medal is awarded for significant contributions to public life, and Stephanie’s inclusion on this list highlights the substantial impact she has made in her field.

What’s Next?

We’ve achieved a lot, but the next 10 years are critical. The more successful we are, the fiercer the pushback – we have seen this happen time and again.

  • The Tavistock may have been shut down and new gender hubs set up, based on a psychotherapeutic approach, but there are still plenty of gender activists working within the NHS who believe in the ‘gender affirmative’ approach.
  • Schools guidance has improved, but it’s not there yet, and gender identity activists have found a new way to target children through ‘wellbeing’ and mental health resources.

We need to continue challenging the ideas of the transgender lobby, and keep raising awareness of the safeguarding risks for children, so that we continue to make positive change. We are in a stronger position than ever to do so. As a respected voice, our work is increasingly carried out behind the scenes, in a consultation role in legal cases and policy-making. We are recognised stakeholders in the areas of children’s health and education.

With your help, we can continue to:

  • Campaign for evidence-based care that prioritises children’s mental and physical health.
  • Expand our reach to ensure more parents, teachers, and healthcare professionals have the resources they need to protect children.
  • Push for legal and policy changes that safeguard children from medical interventions and ideology-based teaching.

How You Can Help

This is a David vs Goliath battle which we are winning but it’s not over yet. With a very small team and on a shoestring budget we have punched well above our weight. We are not funded by government or any charities or organisations, we have always depended on the generous donations of ordinary people who support us.

Every pound you donate goes directly toward continuing the work we’ve already started. It’s not just about funding a cause—it’s about investing in a future where children are protected from harmful ideology, in both schools and healthcare settings.

If you believe that childhood should not be politicised, if you believe that children deserve evidence-based care, and if you believe in protecting parental rights and free speech, then we ask for your support.

Your donation, no matter how big or small, will help us continue this fight for the next 10 years. Our aim has always been to stop our work when we are no longer needed – when we can safely say the transgender trend is over – but if it takes 10 years we will be here. We’re not going away.

Please help us to ensure that the next generation has the freedom to grow up in a world where truth, evidence, and compassion reign.

Donate to our crowdfunder today and stand with us in protecting children from ideology and unproven medical interventions.

Thank you.

Virtually no-one — except the certifiably insane — actually believes, or ever have believed, the lunatic idea that you can change sex from male to female or vice versa. The activists don’t believe it. That is why they refuse any debate. They know they will be shown up as clowns. But their aim is not to prove their point. Their aim is to confuse and upset society, preparatory to its destruction. i.e. their aim is a political one.
Why did they succeed in getting so many people and institutions onside? People had a number of motivations: including a good feeling to belong to a growing movement or ‘club’, fear of being cancelled, of course, the profit motive (lots of money in the medical implicatins of surgery and medication and of course as i have said a genuine desire to destroy ad reform society a la G Orwell.
Well, it looks as if the destroyers and their legions have failed thanks to a huge amount of courage from people of good sense like you lot.. But, as you righty say, the battle is not yet over. There are still miscreants of the various types mentioned above who will not surrender until they are effectively destroyed.
And it is great people like you that have done so much to get us into a winning position. Thank you.

Paedophilia is always lurking at the bottom of the TQ movement. It never goes away, it’s always going to have to be driven back by vigilante forces like Transgendertrend and the Wonder Woman that is Stephanie.
